Fast N' Snappy
Kindergarten-Grade 3-Fast (an alligator) is a dedicated "Hop-to-It Express" rider and Snappy (a frog) is his faithful steed. President Blinkin gives them an important letter to deliver to the good citizens of Cactus Gulch, and they are soon on their way. Gila Joe and his band of desperado snakes try several stereotypical old-western-movie ploys to stop them. Luckily, the cavalry arrives just in time to save the day. The story and the bright acrylic cartoons are equally lighthearted and formulaic. The animal characters and desert backdrops are colorful and humorous. Schnetzler finishes off with a brief yet interesting history of the Pony Express.  Click here to read more about this book or purchase it at Amazon.com

Widdermaker
In an outlandish combination of pourquoi and tall tale, Schnetzler takes readers on a rip-roaring, hilarious adventure. "Varmints is varmints. And cowpokes is cowpokes. And varmints don't beat cowpokes." With this declaration, Cowpoke Pete sets off to capture the Widdermaker, the meanest, most ornery longhorn in the West. Climbing onto the back of his trusty steed, Desert Rose, the fastest pony west of the Mississippi, the crazed cowpoke follows the trail of destruction left by the bad-tempered bovine. As Cowpoke Pete and Desert Rose try to rope and tame the Widdermaker, they create the Painted Desert and Monument Valley. Sealock's paintings are wild, wacky, and bold, featuring the burly, broad-nosed bull with blood-shot eyes and fuming nostrils.  Click here to read more about it or purchase it at Amazon.com
